St. Monica's Catholic Primary School is a happy school. We are a Catholic community with our mission firmly based on the teaching of Jesus. We offer a friendly environment and a school ethos where respect and caring is modelled in the way we live together like a family.

We have high standards of behaviour, teaching and learning. It is our vision for every child to be happy, caring and responsible; to develop a lifelong passion for learning, to achieve their potential and to be prepared for the challenges of the 21st Century.

Our school vision statement encapsulates our school mission: 'Loving to learn, learning to love like Jesus.' As part of our Mission Renewal all members of our school community wrote pledges. We take seriously our commitment to fulfill our pledges in the way we live and work at St. Monica's. We hope you find our website informative and that you find the information you are looking for. If you would like to visit our school, please do not hesitate to contact us: you would be very welcome.

Attendance in school is very important. School opens at 8.45am every morning and the doors close for registration at 8.55am.  Our aim is for all children to achieve as close to 100% attendance as possible.  We need your support for this to happen.  Please ensure that you are clear as to when our holidays are, so that you can plan holidays in the correct time.

Did you know?

5 minutes late every day means around 3 days of education are missed.

A score of 90% in a test would be a good result, but 90% attendance means that a child will have missed around 100 lessons over a school year.
