Remote Learning information for Wednesday 6th January 2021

Year 6 Parents and Pupils, 

It is difficult to write such messages again, but as directed, we have closed school until February half term. So that the teachers can best prepare for remote learning, you are directed today to complete these one-off tasks below. You can use the time for these tasks to complete your timetable for the day. I suggest this timetable should follow:

9am - Live PE with Joe Wicks (or alternative to your preference) https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1

9.30am - Maths using the links below. 

10.30am Breaktime

11am English using the Talk4Writing link below

12pm Lunch

1pm Science - The Human Body using the link below (we will continue this topic up after the lockdown period)

2pm Break

2.30pm History using the link below

 

From tomorrow (Thursday 7th January) we will be meeting each morning on Google Meet video at 9.30am. Please be prompt, and dressed appopriately for our learning (no pyjamas!). Our morning video session will last around 20 minutes and will cover the day with some feedbacl. This will begin at 9.30 on Thursday.

Year 6 Pupils who are self-isolating

The folllowing lessons and links are for Year 6 pupils who are required to self-isolate, and for the first two days of any potential Year 6 Bubble closure. Please use the curriculum links below in order to continue their education at home. The links provided are in line with the topics and objectives we are covering in school. The Maths and English links cover objectives taught for that specific week. The topic links cover the half term.

Reading stamina and developing a love of reading is the cornerstone of lifelong reading.

See a suggested Year 6 reading list below, this is not exhaustive but simply a guide. I often encourage children to read quality newspapers where and when available.

Homework

This year homework will be set via Google Classroom. Each pupil has their own login sheet. 

Approximately 3 hours work each week.

Reading (20 minutes each night)

Spellings (10 – 15) each week                  

Written tasks/Other curriculum tasks

P.E.

We have PE on a Wednesday and a Friday. Children will need to wear to school:

White tshirt; navy or dark shorts; trainers; navy or black hoody/jumper (if required)
