Dovi's Adventures with Year 1, by Mrs Adams
Date: 3rd May 2022 @ 5:44pm
What a year Dovi has had with Year 1 so far! Each weekend he has gone on amazing adventures with his friends in the class, having sleepovers, parties and nature walks. He has enjoyed seeing the different families and houses, and seeing how we spend our time at home.
Being a Jewish bear, he finds it very interesting to learn new things about Christianity and what Catholics celebrate. We taught Dovi all about Advent, taking him to our Christingle assembly and showing him our Christingles. He has been to Mass at Church with Bronagh, and a St Patrick’s Day parade with Grace. At the start of Lent, Dovi came to our Ash Wednesday assembly and helped blow the candle out with Jack. He came along with Isabelle to watch the Passion Play at St Monica’s Church, and learned about the Stations of the Cross in church with Anaiya. Dovi enjoyed our Last Supper assembly before Easter, learning about how Jesus shared food with his friends and washed their feet.
Dovi has learned so much so far this year, about how different his Jewish faith is to our Catholic faith, and how different we all are in our class family. He cannot wait to go home with more of his friends, and share more knowledge about our faith as we go into the Summer Term.
