2027/28 ADMISSIONS POLICY CONSULTATION

This consultation has now closed and the policy for 27/28 has been determined by the admissions authority.

Determination on Variation to Published Admission Number (PAN) - Office of the Schools Adjudicator Decision

The Office of the Schools Adjudicator has approved a variation to the school’s Published Admission Number (PAN), reducing it from 30 to 20 for the Reception intake for September 2025 and September 2026.

This variation was requested due to significant and unforeseen changes that occurred after the school’s admission arrangements were determined. These included increased staffing costs and a divergence from pupil number forecasts, which together placed additional pressure on the school’s staffing structure and financial sustainability.

As a result, the school has had to make structural changes to operate sustainably as a 20-place intake. Aligning the PAN with this structure supports financial stability and ensures the continued effective organisation of classes and provision for pupils.

The full determination, including the Adjudicator’s reasons for approving the variation, is published as a document below.

Determination

In accordance with section 88E of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998, I approve the proposed variation to the admission arrangements determined by the Governing Body for St Monica’s Catholic Primary School, for 2025/26 and 2026/27.

I determine that for admission in 2026/27 the published admission number will be 20; and that for the reception year in 2025/26 academic year, the published admission number will be varied to 20.

Dated: 11 February 2026

Schools Adjudicator: Mr Philip Lloyd
