Admissions
2027/28 ADMISSIONS POLICY CONSULTATION
A consultation is now open on the proposed Admissions Policy for 2027/28.
Admission arrangements are the overall procedure, practices and over-subscription criteria used in deciding the allocation of school places. The consultation is being carried out by the Governing Body.
In this consultation there is a proposal to reduce the school PAN from 30 to 20.
The consultation opens on 3rd December 2025 and closes on 28th January 2026.
Due to the declining birth rate numbers, three years ago St Monica’s Catholic Primary underwent a restructure of classes in KS1. This proposed reduction of PAN will protect the class structure already in place of 60 pupils in KS1.
We welcome your views on these proposed arrangements. Please submit any response by 28th January. You can do this by:
Sending in written responses addressed to: Mrs L Barker, Chair of Governors, St Monica’s Catholic Primary School, St Monica’s Close, Appleton, Warrington, WA4 3AW,
Emailing comments addressed to the Chair of Governors via the school email: stmonicas_primary@sch.warrington.gov.uk.
We have created a Frequently Asked Questions document which we hope will provide more detail around PAN and the implications of a reduction.
