Welcome to St. Monica's Catholic Primary School

St. Monica's Catholic Primary School is a happy school, located in Appleton, Warrington. We are a Catholic community with our mission firmly based on the teaching of Jesus. Children of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome at St Monica’s. We offer a friendly environment and a school ethos where respect and caring is modelled in the way we live together like a family.

We have high standards of behaviour, teaching and learning. It is our vision for every child to be happy, caring and responsible; to develop a lifelong passion for learning, to achieve their potential and to be prepared for the challenges of the 21st Century.

Our school vision statement encapsulates our school mission:

'Loving to learn, learning to love like Jesus.'

We hope you find our website informative and that you find the information you are looking for. If you would like to visit our school, please do not hesitate to contact us; you would be very welcome.

What our parents say - Parent Survey 2024

"Our children love being in St.Monica’s. So as parents we always feel welcomed and comfortable. We’re a family from ethnic minority backgrounds and also one of our children has a special need. Can’t imagine our life if we didn’t find this school."

"The cultural capital experiences on offer are extraordinary. My son has had so many opportunities to try such a wide range of different activities and experiences. This really sets St Monica's apart from other schools."

"St Monica’s always offers a friendly, warm environment where my child is thriving and always happy."

"The school has a lovely family like community where all the children know each other from different year groups. The children are happy and are encouraged to do their best and be kind. "

"The high expectations in Y4 have meant that my child has made good progress in all areas of the curriculum, especially in reading and times tables knowledge."

"This school is nice because the kids feel safe in this school."

Following our SEND Peer to Peer review it was reported:

"The Sunshine Room is a wonderful, effective resource, providing a nurturing environment for more vulnerable pupils. This room also stores resources for staff to access to help pupils with a variety of needs."
