COVID-19 - Changes to Isolation Period, by Mrs Adams

Date: 19th Jan 2022 @ 9:47am

Changes to the self-isolation period for those who test positive for COVID-19

This change came into effect in England on Monday 17 January and applies to all positive cases, regardless of vaccination status.

People who are self-isolating with COVID-19 have the option to reduce their isolation period after 5 full days if they test negative with an LFD test on both day 5 and day 6 and they do not have a temperature. For example, if they test negative on the morning of day 5 and the morning of day 6, they can return to their education or childcare setting immediately on day 6.

The first test must be taken no earlier than day 5 of the self-isolation period, and the second must be taken the following day. All test results should be reported to NHS Test and Trace.

If the result of either test is positive, they should continue to self-isolate until they get negative results from two LFD tests on consecutive days or until they have completed 10 full days of self-isolation, whichever is earliest.

The new rules also apply to people who are already isolating – so if someone was already isolating before Monday 17 January, they can take LFD tests on day 5 and 6 and if they are both negative and they have no temperature they can end their isolation.

Anyone who is unable to take LFD tests or anyone who continues to have a temperature will need to complete the full 10-day period of self-isolation.

Further information on self-isolation for those with COVID-19 is available.

Virtual Sports Week 2021, by Mrs Adams

Date: 22nd Jun 2021 @ 9:01pm

Sports Day is always a popular and important event in the school calendar. This year, due to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19, we are unable to invite parents to our ‘traditional’ sports day.

To counter this, we have designed a ‘Virtual Sports Week’ that can be completed at home with a minimum of resources. This year it will run from Wednesday 23rd June to Tuesday 29th June.

Please watch the PowerPoint below for full details.

Community Healthcare Text Messaging Service, by Mrs Adams

MAY 2021

Text support service for parents, carers and teens 11-19 years

Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has rolled out a new secure text messaging service for parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-19 years old and a Young People's Service for 11-19 years, enabling them to get timely and trusted health advice from a health professional (a Health Visitor or School Nurse).

There are 3 text numbers for:

  • 11 – 19 Young People's Service
  • 0 - 5 Parents Service
  • 5 - 19 Parents Service

As our lives have changed over the last few months due to coronavirus, it’s more important than ever for young people families to have easy access to support, particularly in the absence of face to face interaction.

The service does not aim to replace face to face contacts, rather increase choice for service users about how they access advice from a health professional and provides a new line of communication as face to face contact is reduced.

The ChatHealth text number will operate Monday-Friday from 9am until 5pm.

Messages will be responded to within 24 hours during this period. Outside these hours, service users will receive a ‘bounce back’ text message indicating that they will receive a response when the line re-opens.

ChatHealth is not an emergency service, and accordingly parents will be instructed to follow usual advice in seeking urgent medical attention.

The text numbers for Warrington are:

  • 11 - 19 Young People's Service – 07507 330101
  • 0 - 5 Parents Service – 07507 327981
  • 5 - 19 Parents Service – 07480 635994

Or visit chathealth.nhs.uk to start a chat

Remote Learning Survey, by St Monica's Catholic Primary School

Date: 17th Mar 2021 @ 10:19am

Dear Parents,
thank you for all your support and engagement during the recent period of lockdown. We would like to know your views on the Remote Learning offer we provided this Spring, so that we can review and improve what we do. We recommend that children are included in giving feedback as they were the active learners and their views are also important to us. Your comments in the previous questionnaire were very helpful in shaping the changes we made from last year's offer, and we are determined to keep getting better.

Many thanks,

Mrs. A Norman, Head Teacher
